Start with the claim
“This destination exists” and “this building is at these coordinates” need different evidence. The world guide records named destinations. It does not turn those names into a verified navigation map.
Check what the source actually shows
An official screenshot can support a description of a visible scene. A trailer can show a sequence of shots. Neither automatically provides scale, cardinal direction, uninterrupted travel or a complete road network. Record which image or timestamp supports the claim.
Keep the label with the image
When posting a community reconstruction, place “fan interpretation” beside the image and explain the uncertain parts. Do not hide that qualification in a footer. If a marker is approximate, make that visible before a reader tries to use it.
A source checklist
- Who published the original material?
- Which image or timestamp supports the point?
- Is the place named by the source, or inferred by the writer?
- Are distances and positions measured, estimated or unknown?
- Does later official material change the claim?
Publish one useful answer
A map article should solve a specific reader problem. If it only repeats another page, update the original or add a section there. Link related location guides when they provide the next useful answer.
